On rocky islands off the coast of South Africa, thousands of creatures congregate to breed. Among these, huge colonies of cape gannets dominate. Surrounded by rich waters, they can find enough to feed themselves and their young. But life is full of challenges for the breeding gannets. Competition for space is rife, conditions are harsh, and the search for food can be dangerous. It’s no easy feat raising a new generations on South Africa’s crowded islands.
